Solve problems with AI apps
Here you find the messages that can show when you connect an AI app, in the chat and when you confirm an action, with the reason and the solution.
The messages of Tentary show in the language that you set in Tentary. The messages in the chat come from Tentary in English. Many AI apps pass them on in their own words.
While connecting
These messages show on the Tentary page where you allow access.
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| ”Only the account owner can connect apps” | You are logged in as a team member or with a support login. | The account owner logs in and connects the app. |
| ”Please activate your account first. We sent you an email with a link.” | Your email address is not confirmed yet. | Click the link in the email, then start the connection again. |
| ”This page has expired. Go back to the app and connect again.” | The page was open too long, or it was opened twice. | Start the connection again in the AI app. |
| ”Choose at least one permission.” | You cleared all checkboxes. | Leave at least one permission checked. |
| ”Too many connection attempts. Please wait an hour and try again.” | There were very many connection attempts from the same network (more than 20 per hour). | Wait an hour. |
| ”This app cannot connect to Tentary.” with a technical detail below | Tentary refused the registration of the app. | Send the detail text to our support. |
| The warning “This app registered itself. Tentary cannot check its name, so only continue if you started the connection yourself.” | This is normal for Codex, Cursor and Grok: these apps register themselves. Grok shows as “Cursor / Grok”. | Continue if you started the connection yourself. ChatGPT and Claude show “Verified domain” instead. |
In the AI app
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Codex: “The tentary MCP server is not logged in. Run codex mcp login tentary.” | You only ran the first of the two commands. | Run codex mcp login tentary. See Connect Codex. |
| Grok: the sign-in window does not open. | Your browser blocks pop-ups for grok.com. | Allow pop-ups for grok.com. |
| ChatGPT has no “Add custom MCP server”, or Claude has no “Add custom connector”. | This depends on the plan or the workspace settings. Claude Free allows only one custom connector. In Claude Team and Enterprise, the owner of the organization adds connectors. | Check your plan, or ask the admin of your workspace. |
| ”The access token is not valid any more. Sign in again.” | You changed your password or your login email address, disconnected the app, or did not use the connection for 30 days. | Connect the app again. |
| ”The API key is not valid any more. Create a new key in the Tentary app on the page AI & API.” | The key was revoked, or you changed your password or your login email address. | Create a new key on the page AI & API and put it into your app. |
| ”This connection does not have the permission ”…”. Connect again and allow it.” | You cleared the permission when you connected, or the app is older than the permission. | Disconnect the app on the page AI & API, connect it again and keep the permission checked. For a key, create a new key with the permission. |
| ”This action is not possible through the API or an AI client. Do it in the Tentary app.” | This only works directly in Tentary. See What you do yourself in Tentary. | Do it in Tentary. |
| ”Rate limit reached. Wait N seconds, or ask for fewer items per call.” | The app sent too many requests in a short time. | Wait a moment, then ask again. |
| ”Too many calls of this account at the same time. Wait a few seconds, then send one call after the other.” | The app sent too many requests at the same time. | Wait a moment and ask the app to do the tasks one after the other. |
| ”Other reports or searches of this account run at the moment. Try again in a minute.” | Other reports or large searches run for your account right now. The limit applies to all connected apps and API keys together. | Wait a minute, then ask again. |
| ”Tentary copies another file or image of this account at the moment. Try again in a minute.” | Tentary is copying another file or image for your account. | Wait a minute, then ask again. |
| ”This call took too long for this account. Ask for a shorter period, one product (product_id) or fewer items per page.” | The request was too large for your account, for example a report over a long period. | Ask for a shorter period, a single product or fewer items at once. |
| ”The same request is still running. Wait a minute and check the result … before you send it again.” | The app sent the same change twice at the same time. | Wait a minute and check if the change is already there. |
| ”Tentary could not answer this call (request ID …). Try again later.” | An error on the Tentary side. | Try again later. If it happens again, send the request ID to our support. |
On the confirmation page
These messages show when you open a confirmation link of the AI app.
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| ”Only the account owner can confirm this.” | You are logged in as a team member or with a support login. | Log in as the owner. |
| ”This link is not valid for your account. Log in with the account that connected the AI app, or ask the AI app for a new link.” | You are logged in to another Tentary account, or the link is wrong. | Log in with the right account, or ask for a new link. |
| ”This link has expired. Ask the AI app for a new one.” | More than 5 minutes passed since the request. | Ask the AI app again. |
| ”This changed after the AI app asked. Nothing happened. Ask the AI app again.” | The object changed after the request, for example the text of the campaign. | Ask the AI app again and confirm the new link. |
Other
- The list of connected apps and the activity log show “Cursor / Grok”. This is Grok or Cursor. Grok registers with Tentary under the name “Cursor”. See Connect Grok.
- An app cannot do something, although there is a permission for it. An app that you connected before a new permission existed does not have that permission. Disconnect the app and connect it again. See Permissions.
