Connect ChatGPT to Tentary

Connect ChatGPT to your Tentary account. Then you ask ChatGPT about your sales, customers and products and let it do tasks for you.

On this page

To learn what a connected AI app can do, see Connect AI apps to Tentary.

Before you start

  • You are the owner of the Tentary account. Team members cannot connect apps.
  • Your Tentary account is activated.
  • Your ChatGPT plan allows custom MCP servers. Which plans can do this changes often. In workspaces, the admin may need to turn on developer mode. If you do not see the option, ask OpenAI support.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In Tentary, open the page AI & API and copy the address of the MCP server at the top: https://mcp.tentary.com/mcp
  2. Open chatgpt.com/plugins and click +.
  3. Choose Add custom MCP server.
  4. Enter a name, for example “Tentary”, and optionally a description.
  5. Under Connection, enter the URL https://mcp.tentary.com/mcp.
  6. Under authentication, choose OAuth.
  7. Keep the default registration method, Client Identifier Metadata Document (CIMD).
  8. Confirm I understand and want to continue and click Create as a plugin.
  9. Find the new plugin under your personal plugins and install it.
  10. ChatGPT sends you to Tentary. Sign in with your Tentary login if you are not logged in yet.

Allow access

Tentary shows the page ChatGPT wants to access your Tentary account with the line Verified domain: chatgpt.com. Below it are your account and, under The app may:, the permissions.

  1. Check the permissions. All are selected. You can clear some, but at least one must stay.
  2. Click Allow access.

Then you get the email New app connected to your Tentary account, and ChatGPT shows on the page AI & API under Connected apps.

There is more about permissions in the overview.

Important: ChatGPT sends data from your account, including names and email addresses of your customers, to OpenAI. Check that this is allowed under your privacy policy.

Use Tentary in a chat

Type @ in the ChatGPT prompt box and choose the Tentary plugin. Then ask your question.

By default, ChatGPT asks for your approval before it changes something. You can expand the call to check what exactly will happen. You also see the technical name of the tool, for example create_coupon. What the tools do is in What the AI can do in Tentary.

ChatGPT can remember your approval for a tool in a conversation and then does not ask again. This is a ChatGPT setting. Sending campaigns, switching automations on or off, archiving, deleting, refunds, cancellations and deactivating customers always also need your confirmation in Tentary. See The confirmation in Tentary.

What to ask first

  • “How much revenue did I make last month, by product?”
  • “Which customers bought my course this week?”
  • “Create a 20% coupon for my course, valid until Sunday.”
  • “Write an email campaign about my new e-book and send me a test email.”

Disconnect

In Tentary, open the page AI & API and under Connected apps click Disconnect next to ChatGPT. ChatGPT loses access at once.
